AWS - Bendigo Library Project

AWS – Bendigo Library Project

Watch the AWS Designer Notes video interview with MGS directors Eli Giannini and Joshua Wheeler on the design inspirations for the Bendigo Library redevelopment.

Since 1983, Bendigo Library has stood in the heart of Bendigo. It was only a concrete block which serviced the local community in its two storey structure for over 30 years and despite being a well-known complex within Bendigo, it was in need of a renovation and upgrade to its facilities.

The project incorporates AWS window and door systems throughout, offering natural light a focal element of the building and highlighting the changing nature of the space throughout the day.

The Bendigo Library Redevelopment was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects Regional Prize and a Commendation in Public Architecture – Alterations and Additions at the 2014 Victorian Architecture Awards.
